  • Handle HMRC correspondence and deal with enquiries efficiently and professionally.

  • Prepare Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns and assist with related planning matters.

  • Review tax computations and returns prepared by junior staff, providing feedback and development support where appropriate.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of service delivery.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and tax software systems.

  • Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with a professional client-facing manner.

  • High attention to detail, strong organisational ability, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.

  • Proactive, reliable, and adaptable, with a positive and collaborative mindset.

  • Able to mentor and support junior team members.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong understanding of the importance of customer service in client retention and development.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads effectively, maintaining high standards of accuracy and output.

  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage both personal and team dynamics effectively.

  • Experience with complex tax scenarios such as R&D, groups, overseas, and CIS (desirable).
