Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end accounts for a range of clients including SMEs and owner-managed businesses

  • Assist with management accounts and financial reporting

  • Prepare VAT returns and support VAT compliance work

  • Assist with corporation tax computations and self-assessment tax returns

  • Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries

  • Support senior team members on client assignments and ad hoc projects

  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and in line with deadlines

  • Utilise cloud accounting software and digital tools to improve efficiency

Requirements

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice

  • Strong understanding of accounts preparation and VAT

  • Good IT skills including Excel and cloud-based accounting software

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Confident communicator with a proactive approach to client service

  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines effectively

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks

  • Exposure to a varied client portfolio including SMEs

  • Experience working within a fast-paced practice environment
