Senior Accountant – Bolton (Accountancy Practice Role)
A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant in Bolton to join its expanding team on a full-time permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who enjoys a varied role combining accounts, tax compliance, and business advisory services. The Opportunity
This Senior Accountant role in Bolton offers the opportunity to manage a diverse client portfolio while supporting businesses with both compliance and strategic advisory services.
The successful candidate will work closely with business owners, providing guidance on tax planning, business structuring, financial decisions, and operational improvements.
This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant looking to take on a client-facing position with greater advisory involvement and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Responsibilities
Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and tax computations for:
Sole traders
Partnerships
Limited companies
Individuals
Ensuring all HMRC and Companies House deadlines are met
Maintaining accurate and compliant client records
Keeping up to date with changes in UK accounting legislation and compliance requirements
Advisory Responsibilities
Providing business advisory and tax planning services to clients
Identifying opportunities for:
Tax efficiency
Asset protection
Business improvements
Advising clients on the tax implications of business transactions
Supporting business restructuring and tax-efficient planning
Advising clients on accounting software and business systems
Acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients
General Responsibilities
Collaborating with other departments to deliver integrated client solutions
Mentoring and supporting junior team members
Assisting with business development and networking activities
Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and client service delivery
Supporting portfolio management teams with client management responsibilities
Requirements
ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Minimum of 10 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
Strong knowledge of UK accounting legislation and compliance
Experience advising owner-managed businesses
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience using accounting and tax software alongside Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client priorities
Professional, organised, and detail-focused approach
