The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review year-end accounts for a range of clients including SMEs and owner-managed businesses
  • Oversee the production of management accounts and financial reporting
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns
  • Manage VAT returns and provide VAT-related advice
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing proactive support and guidance
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value
  • Review work completed by junior team members, providing feedback and support
  • Assist with workflow management to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Support partners and senior stakeholders on ad hoc assignments and advisory projects

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients
  • Excellent technical knowledge across accounts, tax, and VAT
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Proficient in Excel and cloud-based accounting software

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
  • Exposure to advisory work and client business planning
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
