Senior Accountant – Hale (Accountancy Practice Role)

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for a range of clients

  • Preparing company tax computations and supporting compliance work

  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members

  • Coaching and mentoring more junior staff within the accounts team

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Liaising directly with clients regarding accounting and financial queries

  • Assisting managers and directors with client projects and advisory work

  • Ensuring compliance with current accounting standards and regulations

  • Supporting workflow management and meeting client deadlines

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential

  • Strong accounts preparation experience across a varied client portfolio

  • Good working knowledge of accounting software including Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

  • Experience reviewing or mentoring junior staff is advantageous

  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to client service
