An established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing team in North Lincolnshire. Established for over 30 years, the firm supports a broad portfolio of SME, owner-managed and corporate clients across multiple sectors, delivering tailored accountancy, taxation and business advisory services. The business has built a strong reputation for client service, long-term relationships and practical commercial advice.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified by experience accountant seeking a senior-level role within a progressive practice environment. The successful candidate will manage a varied client portfolio while supporting junior staff and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of SME, limited company and sole trader clients
  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts
  • Preparation of management accounts and financial reporting
  • Corporate tax and personal tax compliance
  • VAT return preparation and submissions
  • Advising clients on cloud accounting systems including Xero and Sage
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Managing client relationships and responding to technical queries
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance submissions are completed accurately and on time
  • Supporting Directors with ad-hoc advisory and business projects

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and tax compliance
  • Experience managing client relationships independently
  • Knowledge of Xero, Sage and cloud-based accounting systems
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage workloads and deadlines autonomously
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client service
