Specialist Tax Advisor 

Location: Chester 
Hours: Full-time, Permanent ( 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 6:00pm) 
Salary: Up to £55,000 

About: 
A well-established and supportive accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Specialist Tax Advisor to join their growing tax team. This role involves delivering a full range of tax services in line with current legislation and deadlines, while offering high-level planning and consulting support to a diverse client base. 

The successful candidate will work with individuals, businesses, partnerships, and trusts, advising on complex tax matters with clarity and professionalism. They will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate tax implications in straightforward terms. 

Core Areas of Expertise  
The role requires solid working knowledge in several tax disciplines, including: 

  • Corporate Tax 
  • International & Inheritance Tax 
  • National Insurance 
  • Personal Tax 
  • Trusts & Estates 
  • VAT 

The Role: 

  • Advising and implementing corporate restructures for SMEs 
  • Structuring trusts for business owners, property companies, and farms 
  • Lifetime inheritance tax planning and estate structuring 
  • Advising on residence, domicile, and cross-border tax issues 
  • Liaising with solicitors, stakeholders, and HMRC on behalf of clients 
  • Providing tax advice around leaving/returning to the UK 
  • Supporting clients with patent box claims and R&D tax incentives 
  • Employee incentive scheme planning and implementation 
  • Managing tax projects to completion 
  • Interpreting and applying changes in UK and international tax legislation 
  • Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney as part of estate planning 
  • Creating bespoke tax strategies and minimizing liabilities 
  • Producing reports, client presentations, and advisory documentation 
  • Providing guidance on indirect tax (VAT, customs, environmental taxes) 
  • Responding to technical queries and offering ad hoc support to clients 

Working environment  

  • Mix of team collaboration and independent work 
  • Occasional local travel for client meetings 
  • Some flexibility required for client demands and deadlines 

Qualification:

  • ATT or CTA qualification preferred

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
