An established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice in the North East is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Senior to join its growing team. Established for over 35 years, the firm supports a broad portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses and private individuals across the region, delivering tailored accountancy, tax and advisory services. The business is recognised for its client-first approach, commercially focused advice and collaborative working culture.
This opportunity would suit a practice-trained tax professional seeking greater autonomy, exposure to varied client work and a clear route for progression within a supportive environment.
The Opportunity
Manage a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients
Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns
Assist with corporation tax compliance and computations
Provide tax planning support to owner-managed businesses and individuals
Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients
Support junior team members with technical guidance where required
Work closely with Directors on advisory assignments and client projects
Identify opportunities to improve client tax efficiency and compliance processes
Build strong long-term relationships with clients across multiple sectors
Candidate Profile
Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment
Strong knowledge of personal and corporate tax compliance
ATT / CTA / ACCA / ACA qualified or qualified by experience
Confident managing client relationships independently
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Experience using cloud-based accounting software would be advantageous
Commercially aware with a proactive approach to client service
