Registered Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal
Location: Blackheath, South East London
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: Full or Part-Time, 3 or 4 days per week
Weekend: 1 in 4/5 Saturdays, 8:30am–2:00pm, with a day off in lieu

About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in Blackheath, South East London, to join a progressive small animal practice where nursing expertise is highly valued.
This is a full or part-time position working 3 or 4 days per week, with a manageable 1 in 4/5 Saturday rota. Saturday shifts run from 8:30am–2:00pm, with a day off in lieu, and there are no on-call or out-of-hours requirements.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to small animal patients.
Support Veterinary Surgeons with medical and surgical cases.
Monitor anaesthesia and assist with surgical procedures.
Utilise diagnostic equipment and in-house laboratory facilities.
Support laparoscopic and other advanced procedures where appropriate.
Provide inpatient and post-operative care.
Deliver nurse-led consultations and clinical procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Promote excellent standards of patient welfare.
Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team.
Continue developing clinical skills through CPD and practical experience.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse who:
Holds current RCVS registration.
Has experience within small animal practice.
Is confident across a broad range of nursing responsibilities.
Has strong anaesthesia, surgical and patient-care skills.
Is comfortable working with modern diagnostic and clinical equipment.
Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
Enjoys working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
Is enthusiastic about developing their nursing career.
Shares a commitment to excellent animal welfare and patient care.
