Registered Veterinary Nurse - Burton-on-Trent
About the Role
A well-established small animal practice in Stapenhill, Burton-on-Trent, West Midlands is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their team on a full-time or part-time basis. This is a varied role across multiple sites, including occasional cover at other community locations, offering exposure to a wide range of first opinion nursing duties.
The full-time position is 38 hours over 4 days per week, including a share of evening and weekend shifts with a pro-rata Saturday rota. Alternative working patterns may be considered, ensuring flexibility while maintaining clinical coverage.

The practice is a long-established, RCVS-accredited small animal centre, committed to delivering exceptional care to pets and owners across Staffordshire and surrounding areas. Facilities at the Stapenhill branch include digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, two operating theatres, dedicated consulting spaces, and a nurse consult room.
The team comprises experienced veterinary surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, and Client Care Advisors, fostering a supportive, collaborative, and welcoming environment. Nurse-led clinics contribute to preventative healthcare and ongoing patient wellbeing, and the practice culture encourages learning, professional development, and team growth.
Responsibilities
Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiography and ultrasound
Run and support nurse-led clinics, promoting preventative healthcare
Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and wider practice teams to maintain clinical standards
Candidate Profile
RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
Experience in medical and surgical nursing within clinical practice
Confident, motivated, and enjoys working as part of a team
Strong communication skills and ability to build positive client relationships
Organised and able to manage workload effectively
Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous professional development
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Ranging from £28,000 - £32,000
Annual Leave: 6.6 weeks plus birthday off, increasing with length of service
