About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly and supportive small animal practice in Clifton, Nottingham. This role offers a salary of up to £32,000 pro rata (DOE) alongside excellent clinical exposure, strong CPD support, and genuine flexibility to support work-life balance.
This position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility to suit individual requirements. The rota includes only 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm), with no out-of-hours or overnight inpatient checks, ensuring a healthy and sustainable working pattern.

About the Practice
This is a well-equipped small animal practice with modern facilities designed to support high-quality patient care and excellent clinical standards. The practice is fully equipped with an in-house laboratory, separate dog and cat wards, isolation ward, digital x-ray (including dental), ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, ultrasonic dental equipment, and Class 4 laser therapy.
The team includes experienced veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, student veterinary nurses, dedicated leadership, and a strong reception team, creating a collaborative and supportive working environment.
The practice follows the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, holds ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation, and places a strong emphasis on colleague wellbeing, with mental health first aiders and a positive team culture.
They actively encourage nurses to fully utilise their skills across all aspects of patient care, including Schedule 3 procedures, inpatient care, diagnostics, and surgical nursing, with strong support for CPD and career progression.
Responsibilities
Manage patient admissions and discharges
Deliver high-quality inpatient care and anaesthesia monitoring
Support surgical procedures and theatre nursing
Assist with diagnostic lab work and medical nursing
Deliver excellent client communication and customer service
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
Help maintain high clinical standards across all nursing duties
Candidate Profile
Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Strong general nursing experience within small animal practice
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Organised, proactive, and able to work to high clinical standards
Passionate about animal welfare and patient care
Clinical Coach experience desirable but not essential
Positive team player with an interest in leadership and practice development
Committed to ongoing professional development and learning
