Registered Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal
Location: Feltham / Ashford / Sunbury, Greater London & Surrey
Salary: £30,000–£36,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-Time, 4 x 9-hour days, approximately 39–40 hours per week
Weekend: 1 in 4 weekends
Nights: Nurse care nights on rotation, with accommodation provided when required

About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the Feltham, Ashford and Sunbury area to become part of the founding clinical team at a brand-new, purpose-built small animal practice.
Offering a salary of £30,000–£36,000, a 4-day working week and 1 in 4 weekends, this is an excellent opportunity for an RVN who wants to fully utilise their nursing skills while helping shape a new practice from its opening stages.
You will play a central role in establishing how nursing care is delivered, contributing to clinical standards, team culture and the day-to-day running of the practice.
The position provides excellent clinical variety across nurse consultations, Schedule 3 procedures, inpatient care, anaesthesia, diagnostics, theatre and client education.
About the Practice
The practice is a brand-new, purpose-built small animal veterinary surgery designed around high-quality patient care and a positive working environment for its clinical team.
Facilities will include eight consulting rooms, three operating theatres, separate dental and diagnostic imaging suites, spacious preparation areas and dedicated patient wards.
The modern environment and diagnostic facilities will enable RVNs to utilise a broad range of nursing skills rather than being restricted to a narrow set of responsibilities.
As part of the founding team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and influence how nursing protocols, workflows and patient care are developed from day one.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to small animal patients.
Support Veterinary Surgeons during consultations, diagnostics and surgery.
Run nurse-led clinics and promote preventative healthcare.
Undertake appropriate Schedule 3 procedures.
Deliver comprehensive inpatient and ward care.
Monitor anaesthesia and support safe patient recovery.
Undertake laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
Assist with radiography and diagnostic imaging.
Prepare patients and theatres for surgical procedures.
Provide clear client education and preventative healthcare advice.
Maintain accurate clinical and patient records.
Support and mentor Student Veterinary Nurses where appropriate.
Participate in nurse care nights on a rotational basis.
Contribute to developing clinical protocols and nursing standards within the new practice.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse who:
Holds current RCVS registration.
Takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.
Wants to utilise their full range of veterinary nursing skills.
Is confident with anaesthesia monitoring and inpatient care.
Has an interest in nurse clinics and Schedule 3 procedures.
Has excellent communication and client-care skills.
Works collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and nursing colleagues.
Is positive, proactive and adaptable.
Is enthusiastic about CPD and continued professional development.
Would enjoy helping establish the culture and clinical standards of a new veterinary practice.
