Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering high standards of nursing care to small animal patients
Running nurse-led consultations
Providing inpatient nursing and monitoring
Assisting veterinary surgeons during surgical procedures
Supporting theatre preparation, anaesthesia and patient recovery
Undertaking Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate
Dispensing medications accurately and responsibly
Keeping patients calm and comfortable throughout treatment
Communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners
Working closely with veterinary surgeons, nurses and support colleagues
Sharing clinical knowledge and supporting other members of the team
Maintaining accurate clinical records and professional standards
Contributing ideas to improve clinical efficiency and patient care
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified, RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys the variety and challenge of working within a busy small animal hospital.
They should be confident across consultations, inpatient care and theatre, with enthusiasm for using and developing their full range of practical nursing skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, alongside the ability to support colleagues, share knowledge and lead by example.
