About the Role
A leading 24-hour veterinary hospital in Shrewsbury, Shropshire is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. About the Practice
This is a modern, well-equipped veterinary hospital, providing a high standard of care with access to advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities. Equipment includes CT, endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment, K-laser, hydrotherapy treadmill, multiparameter monitoring, and an extensive in-house laboratory.
The practice fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, with a strong focus on continuous learning and professional development. Many team members are undertaking or have completed certificates in areas such as anaesthesia, analgesia, and surgical nursing.

Responsibilities
Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied and complex caseload
Support advanced surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
Provide excellent inpatient care, including medical and post-operative cases
Assist with diagnostic imaging and laboratory work
Support and mentor colleagues through clinical coaching
Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider team
Candidate Profile
RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
Experience in medical and surgical nursing, ideally within a hospital setting
Confident in anaesthesia and inpatient care
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Organised, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development
Interest in mentoring or coaching is advantageous
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: £30,500 per year
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 1-in-6 weekend rota, minimal on-call (1–2 weeks per year)
