About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in Hull, East Yorkshire, to join the clinical team at a brand-new 24/7 veterinary hospital opening in January 2027.
The position offers a 40-hour, 4-day working week with a 2 in 9 weekend rota, alongside 6 weeks' holiday, funded CPD and paid RCVS and VDS fees.
This will be a nurse-led clinical environment where RVNs are encouraged to fully utilise their nursing skills and play an important role in patient care.
With a diverse caseload and continuous patient care provided on site, this is an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to develop their clinical capabilities while helping shape the nursing standards and culture of a completely new hospital.
About the Practice
The role is based within a brand-new veterinary hospital in Hull, serving clients across the city and wider East Yorkshire region.
Opening in January 2027, the hospital will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing continuous patient care alongside first-opinion and emergency veterinary services.
The hospital is being developed to support a varied clinical caseload, providing Veterinary Nurses with opportunities to gain experience across different areas of small animal nursing.
A collaborative approach will encourage RVNs to contribute their knowledge, develop professionally and play an active role in establishing the clinical standards of the new hospital.
Joining ahead of the opening also provides the opportunity to become part of the team from the beginning and contribute to developing a positive, supportive nursing culture.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to small animal patients.
Support Veterinary Surgeons across a varied clinical caseload.
Provide comprehensive inpatient and hospital nursing.
Support emergency and urgent cases where required.
Monitor anaesthesia and assist with surgical procedures.
Prepare patients and clinical areas for procedures.
Monitor patients throughout treatment and recovery.
Utilise nursing skills across a broad range of clinical responsibilities.
Maintain accurate clinical and nursing records.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.
Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and nursing colleagues.
Contribute to high standards of clinical governance and patient welfare.
Help establish effective nursing protocols and working practices.
Participate in the 2 in 9 weekend rota.
Engage with funded CPD and ongoing professional development.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse who:
