About the Role
An excellent opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in Ipswich, Suffolk, offering a salary of £28,000–£34,000 depending on experience and responsibilities.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position within an RCVS-accredited small animal practice, offering a supportive working environment, excellent clinical facilities and a strong commitment to staff wellbeing.
The role offers genuine flexibility around working patterns, with the option to work four longer days or five shorter days. There are no OOH or on-call requirements, with a Saturday consulting shift included on the rota.

The experienced team includes Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs, VCAs, reception colleagues and practice management, creating a collaborative environment where nurses are well supported.

The caseload is varied, including cases from a local animal rehoming centre, providing excellent exposure to different clinical presentations.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care across a varied small animal caseload.
Support Veterinary Surgeons with consultations, diagnostics and treatment.
Confidently undertake all aspects of general veterinary nursing.
Assist with anaesthesia, surgery, inpatient care and recovery.
Utilise in-house diagnostic equipment effectively.
Monitor patient health and wellbeing throughout treatment.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.
Build strong relationships with patients, clients and colleagues.
Maintain high clinical, hygiene and patient welfare standards.
Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Continue developing clinical knowledge through CPD and learning opportunities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a positive, forward-thinking RVN with a genuine passion for veterinary nursing and patient care.
They should be confident across all aspects of general nursing and keen to continue expanding their knowledge and clinical skills.
The successful candidate will ideally:
Be RCVS registered as a Veterinary Nurse.
Have experience in general small animal nursing.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Enjoy building strong relationships with clients and their pets.
Be proactive, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Have a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit team.
Be committed to maintaining high standards of clinical care.
