About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in Romford, East London, within a growing, well-established practice offering excellent facilities, a varied caseload and strong opportunities for professional development.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, with 1 in 4 weekends and occasional OOH requirements. Flexible shift patterns are available, allowing the working rota to be discussed around the successful candidate's lifestyle and commitments.
The successful RVN will play an important role in delivering high standards of patient and client care while contributing to the wider development and smooth running of the practice.
About the Practice
The practice is a thriving 24-hour small animal veterinary service across two branches, supported by an experienced and well-established clinical team.
The wider team includes 13 Veterinary Surgeons, 17 RVNs, 7 Student Veterinary Nurses and 12 Receptionists, creating a highly supportive environment with plenty of clinical expertise to draw upon.
The purpose-built surgery has been designed to high clinical standards and includes:
Two dedicated operating theatres
Ultrasound
Digital radiography
In-house laboratory
Full endoscopy unit
Access to CT facilities at one of the branches
Modern diagnostic and surgical equipment
The practice continues to invest in equipment and services to enhance the standard of care provided to patients and clients.
The location also offers free on-site parking and excellent transport links, with central London approximately 25 minutes away and the Essex countryside accessible within around 20 minutes.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care across a varied small animal caseload.
Support Veterinary Surgeons during consultations, diagnostics and surgical procedures.
Monitor anaesthesia, patients and recovery.
Assist with the management of medical and surgical inpatients.
Utilise diagnostic and therapeutic equipment appropriately.
Maintain high standards of patient welfare, hygiene and clinical governance.
Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients.
Contribute to the smooth running of the practice and wider clinical team.
Support colleagues and help maintain a positive working environment.
Take an interest in the wider operation and development of the practice.
Help motivate and support colleagues towards individual and practice goals.
Participate in CPD and ongoing professional development.
Contribute to delivering excellent patient and client care at all times.
Participate in the 1 in 4 weekend rota and occasional OOH cover.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified and RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about delivering consistently high standards of patient and client care.
They should have strong communication and organisational skills and take pride in working as part of a professional, collaborative team.
The successful RVN will be proactive and keen to embrace all aspects of the Veterinary Nurse role, while also being interested in developing their understanding of the wider practice and how they can contribute to its success.
They should be confident working as part of a large multidisciplinary team and motivated to continue developing their clinical skills through CPD and practical experience.
