About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in Winnersh, Berkshire, joining a welcoming small animal practice with a strong focus on patient welfare, professional development and excellent client care.
This is a full-time position offering 40 hours per week, with varied weekday shifts designed to provide flexibility alongside a consistent working pattern.
Location: Winnersh, Berkshire
Salary: £26,000–£32,000, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Weekday shifts: 8:30am–5:00pm or 11:00am–7:30pm
Saturday rota: 1 in 5, 8:30am–5:00pm

About the Practice
This established small animal practice has created a friendly, collaborative environment where high standards of animal welfare and client care are central to everything they do.
The team consists of 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 RVNs, an SVN, a Saturday Veterinary Care Assistant and a dedicated reception and administration team.
The practice welcomes a broad range of patients, including rabbits and small furries, with members of the team holding certificates in areas including ophthalmology, internal medicine and nursing small mammals.
Orthopaedic procedures are also undertaken with support from a visiting peripatetic surgeon.
The practice is particularly committed to reducing patient stress and holds Silver status as a Fear Free practice. They also work with a local hedgehog rescue, meaning the team regularly cares for wildlife alongside their domestic patients.

Responsibilities
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will:
Provide high-quality nursing care across a varied first-opinion caseload.
Support Veterinary Surgeons with medical and surgical procedures.
Monitor patients during anaesthesia and recovery.
Provide inpatient care and ensure patients receive appropriate ongoing monitoring.
Carry out nursing consultations and procedures within your scope of practice.
Use your clinical skills across a wide range of cases, including small mammals where appropriate.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.
Promote high standards of animal welfare and low-stress patient handling.
Work collaboratively with the veterinary and support teams.
Contribute to the continued development of the practice and its clinical standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with good general nursing experience who enjoys working in a busy small animal environment.
You will ideally be:
A qualified and registered RVN.
Confident across general nursing duties.
Passionate about excellent patient and client care.
A strong team player with a positive and enthusiastic approach.
Keen to utilise and develop your existing nursing skills.
Committed to continued professional development.
Comfortable working with a varied caseload.
Interested in developing knowledge around small furries or other clinical areas.
