About the Role

They are seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian in Mentor, Ohio to provide high-quality care for canine and feline patients outside normal business hours. This role focuses exclusively on urgent care cases—no wellness exams or abdominal surgeries—allowing veterinarians to concentrate on what they do best.

This position offers a flexible swing/second-shift schedule, with single-doctor shifts managing common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. The practice emphasizes a Fear Free and feline-friendly approach, supported by a strong technical team and modern, fully equipped facilities.

About the Practice

This urgent care practice bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency care, offering affordable after-hours veterinary services. Each paperless clinic features cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment, all designed for efficiency and optimal patient care.

The hospitals are brand new and modern, with a supportive, collaborative environment for veterinarians at all stages of their careers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide relationship-based care for patients and clients in an urgent care setting

  • Collaborate with clinical team members and leadership for seamless patient management

  • Support the growth of veterinary support staff through internal training programs

  • Manage a varying caseload, including minor surgeries and appointments during open hours

  • Contribute to a high standard of patient care and client experience

Candidate Profile

  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college (or successful completion of ECFVG/PAVE program)

  • Active license in good standing to practice in Ohio (or ability to obtain one)

  • Comfortable managing urgent care cases independently

  • Passionate about delivering compassionate, efficient care in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive, flexible compensation package (ranging from $180,000 to $200,000)
