A leading emergency and specialty veterinary hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Criticalist to join its growing team in Ventura, California.

This is a unique opportunity for an ACVECC Diplomate to help build and lead a new critical care service within a busy, established 24/7 emergency hospital. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to shape the service while receiving strong support from hospital leadership, emergency clinicians, and a collaborative network of specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced critical care management for hospitalized and critically ill patients.

  • Oversee ICU-level patient care and treatment protocols.

  • Support emergency clinicians with complex and life-threatening cases.

  • Collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines.

  • Develop and implement critical care protocols.

  • Mentor veterinary team members and support clinical development.

  • Help establish and grow a dedicated critical care service.

  • Maintain the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Board Certification as an ACVECC Veterinary Criticalist

  • Strong experience in emergency and critical care medicine.
