About the Role
A veterinary practice is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Dermatologist or Residency-Trained Veterinarian to establish and develop a dermatology service in Meridian, Idaho, serving the greater Boise and Treasure Valley area.
This is a particularly exciting opportunity for a specialist who wants to build a dermatology caseload from day one, supported by an established and motivated referral base within a growing emergency and specialty environment.

About the Practice
The dermatology service operates within an established 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Meridian, providing access to a collaborative multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Dermatology represents an opportunity for significant service growth, with an existing referral network and specialist infrastructure already in place.
The 20,500+ square-foot, two-storey facility includes five examination rooms, a five-station treatment area, two surgical suites, two special procedure rooms and a dental suite.
Advanced diagnostic capabilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and CT, providing the resources required to investigate and manage complex cases.
The dermatology service can benefit from dedicated examination and procedure capacity, alongside collaboration with other veterinary specialists and critical care professionals.
Located in Meridian, Idaho, the position provides convenient access to Boise and the wider Treasure Valley, an area known for its combination of growing city amenities and year-round outdoor recreation.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage a broad range of complex dermatological conditions affecting companion animals.
Develop individualised diagnostic and treatment plans for patients referred for specialist dermatology care.
Perform appropriate dermatological diagnostic procedures, testing and therapeutic interventions.
Manage chronic and complex skin, ear and allergic conditions using evidence-based specialist medicine.
Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis and long-term disease management.
Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians and provide timely communication regarding referred patients.
Collaborate with emergency, critical care and other specialty clinicians when managing multidisciplinary cases.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
Contribute to the continued growth and development of the dermatology service and referral caseload.
Participate in continuing education, specialist collaboration and ongoing professional development.
Candidate Profile
Candidates should have achieved DACVD board certification or completed an appropriate veterinary dermatology residency.
Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an appropriate Idaho veterinary licence in good standing.
An active DEA licence or eligibility to obtain DEA registration is also required.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge of veterinary dermatology alongside excellent diagnostic, clinical and communication skills.
Candidates should be comfortable working independently within their specialty while collaborating closely with other veterinary specialists and support professionals.
An interest in developing a growing referral dermatology service and building strong relationships with referring veterinarians will be particularly valuable.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus production (salary ranging from $220k–$240k)
Production: No negative accrual
Location: Meridian, Idaho / Greater Boise area
Schedule: Full-time
