Responsibilities
The Veterinary Medical Director will:
Provide high-quality general veterinary medicine and surgical care.
Diagnose and treat a broad range of small animal illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
Develop comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plans.
Perform routine surgical procedures and provide appropriate perioperative care.
Utilise digital imaging, dental radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory testing.
Build trusted client relationships through clear and compassionate communication.
Educate pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, preventive healthcare, and ongoing care.
Mentor and support veterinarians and clinical team members.
Help establish, review, and maintain high clinical standards and medical protocols.
Collaborate with practice leadership on hospital development and growth.
Support a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
Encourage professional development and continued clinical learning.
Pursue individual areas of clinical interest where appropriate.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and possess, or be eligible to obtain, a California veterinary licence.
