An opportunity is available for a Veterinary Medical Director within a well-established small animal general practice in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire.

This is a full-time leadership position offering $150,000–$170,000 base salary plus production bonus, along with a Medical Director stipend, sign-on bonus up to $50,000, and a long-term incentive (LTI) cash programme.

The practice is a busy, community-focused small animal hospital serving the Monadnock Region, known for delivering compassionate, high-quality veterinary care and building long-term client relationships.

The clinic sees an average of 13+ patients per day, supported by a strong 2:1 support staff ratio, ensuring efficient workflow and strong clinical backing.

Facilities include modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities such as digital radiology, in-house ultrasound, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dental services with radiography, and cold laser therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical veterinary care for small animal patients

  • Lead and uphold medical standards and clinical protocols within the hospital

  • Mentor and support veterinary team members in clinical development

  • Deliver soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and general practice services

  • Oversee patient care standards and clinical decision-making processes

  • Work collaboratively with practice management to support operational excellence

  • Promote strong client relationships and high-quality client communication

  • Contribute to strategic direction and long-term development of the practice

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD or equivalent)

  • Active or eligible New Hampshire veterinary licence

  • Experienced veterinarian with strong clinical and surgical capability

  • Proven leadership ability or readiness to step into a Medical Director role

  • Strong communicator with a focus on client education and relationship building

  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to veterinary medicine

  • Commitment to high clinical standards and continuous improvement

  • DEA licence and USDA accreditation preferred but not required
