Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Ophthalmologist, you will:
Provide advanced ophthalmology consultations and treatment for referral patients
Diagnose and manage complex ophthalmic conditions
Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as appropriate
Collaborate with specialists and primary care veterinarians on comprehensive patient care plans
Communicate effectively with clients and referring veterinarians
Support a culture of learning through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Participate in continuing education and clinical development opportunities
Maintain accurate medical records and uphold the highest standards of patient care
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent qualification
Board Certification in Veterinary Ophthalmology
Appropriate veterinary licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Mexico
Strong clinical judgement and advanced ophthalmology expertise
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A collaborative approach to working within a multi-specialty team
Passion for teaching, mentoring, and advancing veterinary medicine
