Responsibilities
Provide advanced veterinary ophthalmology consultations and referral services.
Diagnose and manage a broad range of ocular diseases and conditions.

Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures appropriate to training and experience.
Manage ongoing treatment and follow-up care for ophthalmology patients.
Collaborate with emergency clinicians and other veterinary specialists on multidisciplinary cases.

Develop strong professional relationships with referring veterinarians.
Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records.

Candidate Profile
Candidates should hold a DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and be eligible for veterinary licensure in Alabama.
Applicants must be either board-certified in Veterinary Ophthalmology (ACVO) or residency-trained in Ophthalmology.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical and surgical capabilities alongside excellent communication and teamwork skills.
They should be comfortable working collaboratively with other specialists, emergency veterinarians, technicians, referring veterinarians, and pet owners.
Experienced board-certified ophthalmologists are strongly encouraged to apply, while veterinarians completing an eligible ophthalmology residency programme are also welcomed.
