Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice – Walton on the Naze

Location: Walton on the Naze
Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time considered
Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
Salary: £45,000- £70,000 dependent on experience


About the Role

We are representing an established independent small animal practice in Walton on the Naze that is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcome, with a manageable weekend commitment of 1 in 4 Saturday mornings.

This role offers a varied caseload across two well-equipped branches, making it ideal for a vet seeking strong clinical exposure within a collaborative and experienced team.


About the Practice

The practice has a long-standing, stable team of veterinary surgeons and nurses who work cohesively across both sites. They provide a wide range of services and benefit from modern facilities, including:

  • Internal and external laboratory facilities

  • ECG for cardiac diagnostics

  • Ultrasonography

  • Internal medicine case management

  • Soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery

  • Ear irrigation services

This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to develop their skills within an independent setting that values clinical standards, continuity of care, and a supportive work environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • First-opinion consultations and medical case workups

  • Routine and more advanced surgical procedures

  • Supporting imaging and diagnostic investigations

  • Delivering high levels of client communication and patient care

  • Participating in the Saturday rota (no additional out-of-hours)

  • Working collaboratively with the wider clinical team


About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

  • Confident with routine consultations and surgery

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Compassionate, organised, and proactive

  • Open to both full-time or part-time working patterns
