Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will:
Provide advanced surgical consultations and procedures for referral patients
Perform complex surgical procedures while maintaining exceptional standards of care
Collaborate with emergency clinicians, specialists, and primary care veterinarians
Develop comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plans
Communicate surgical recommendations clearly with clients and referring veterinarians
Mentor veterinary professionals and contribute to clinical education
Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
Participate in continuing education and clinical development initiatives
Support a culture of teamwork, compassion, and medical excellence
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent qualification
Active veterinary licence in good standing, or eligibility to obtain licensure, in New Mexico
Active DEA licence or eligibility to obtain DEA registration
Board Certification in Veterinary Surgery or completion of a surgical residency programme
Strong surgical expertise and advanced clinical judgement
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
