About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a confident Veterinary Surgeon in Andover, Hampshire, to join an experienced and supportive small animal team within a recently refurbished practice.

This role offers up to £65,000 per annum, no out-of-hours duties and no overnight inpatient checks, providing an excellent foundation for a healthy work-life balance.

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases, utilise their existing medical and surgical skills and develop areas of particular clinical interest. Part-time applications are also welcomed, with flexibility around the right candidate.

About the Practice

The practice has been established for more than a decade and has developed a loyal client base and strong reputation within the local community.

The recently refurbished clinical environment provides access to modern equipment, including Class IV laser, colour Doppler ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray and endoscopy.

The Veterinary Surgeon will join a team comprising four experienced Vets, a highly skilled nursing team and dedicated support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality small animal veterinary care.

• Conduct routine consultations and medical work-ups.

• Perform routine surgical procedures confidently.

• Take ownership of clinical cases and patient management.

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.

• Maintain high standards of patient welfare and clinical care.

• Utilise modern diagnostic and clinical equipment effectively.

• Contribute to the continued development of the practice.

• Engage in CPD and professional development aligned with individual interests.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon with:

• 2+ years' experience in UK small animal practice, ideally.

• Confidence with routine consultations and surgery.

• Strong clinical decision-making and case management skills.

• Excellent communication and client-care abilities.

• The confidence to work independently when required.

• A collaborative approach and willingness to discuss cases with colleagues.

• A genuine commitment to high standards of patient care.

Less experienced Veterinary Surgeons and new graduates are also encouraged to apply, as the practice has a strong history of supporting clinicians at the beginning of their careers.
