About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon (2+ years qualified) in Birkenhead to join a purpose-led, patient-focused practice. This role offers a 38-hour week across a 4-day schedule (2:9 Saturdays), providing excellent work-life balance while managing a diverse and rewarding caseload.
You will provide high-quality care to sick and injured pets, applying your clinical skills across medical, surgical, and orthopaedic cases. This is an ideal role for a vet seeking to develop professionally in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Salary: £39,000 – £69,000 Pro Rata
Location: Birkenhead, Wirral
Schedule: 38 hours/week, 4-day week, 2:9 Saturdays

This Birkenhead clinic is a modern, well-equipped facility designed to deliver high standards of veterinary care. Key features include:
Seven consulting rooms
Two surgical theatres
Digital X-ray suite
Dedicated dog and cat wards (cat-friendly clinic)

Responsibilities
Provide exceptional veterinary care across a diverse caseload
Manage medical, surgical, and orthopaedic cases efficiently
Support and mentor junior staff where applicable
Deliver clear and compassionate client communication
Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records
Contribute to day-to-day operational efficiency
Candidate Profile
Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with 2+ years experience
Strong clinical skills and ability to manage a diverse caseload
Confident in surgical procedures and diagnostics
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Passionate about accessible, high-quality veterinary care

Compensation & Benefits
