Veterinary Surgeon, Bolsover & Sheffield, £40,000 - £60,000 DOE
Hours: Full-time or part-time considered. 4-day working week with a set day off.
Weekends: 1 in 5 Saturdays
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, family-run independent small animal practice on the Derbyshire/South Yorkshire border. This role has become available due to a valued team member relocating overseas, creating the chance to join a supportive, progressive and forward-thinking practice.
The position would suit a vet with an interest in both medicine and surgery, who enjoys a varied first opinion caseload and wants to be part of a genuinely caring team environment. Development is actively encouraged, with support available for CPD, certificates and long-term clinical progression.
The Role
This is a full or part-time Veterinary Surgeon position offering a good balance of consulting and surgery days. The practice provides 15-minute consultations, with allocated admin time and coffee breaks built into the working day to support a manageable and positive working environment.
The ideal candidate will be a confident team player with excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient and client care. The role would be particularly well suited to a vet with around 3 years’ experience or more, although strong candidates with the right attitude and clinical interests will be considered.
The Practice
The practice is a family-run, independent small animal group with two well-established sites across the Derbyshire/South Yorkshire area. The team includes 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 RVNs, 2 SVNs, experienced reception colleagues, a dedicated practice manager and admin support staff.
The practice offers a high standard of equipment and a good variety of consults and surgical cases. The culture is warm, supportive and genuinely team-focused, with a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, clinical development and enjoying the day-to-day working environment.
