Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal
Location: Dartford, Kent
Schedule: Full Time (4 days per week or 3 days considered, 12-hour shifts, 1 in 4 weekends with time off in lieu)
Salary: Up to £90,000 per year DOE
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal) to join a progressive, independent 24-hour hospital in Dartford. This role is ideal for a vet with 2+ years’ experience looking to develop their career within a well-equipped, high-performing clinical environment.
The successful candidate will manage a varied and engaging caseload, with a mix of routine and more complex cases. There is a preference for a medicine bias, although all interests are supported. Working alongside certificate holders, this position offers excellent exposure to advanced procedures and clinical development.
The role offers flexibility with full-time hours across 4 days, or 3 days per week considered, alongside a 1 in 4 weekend rota with time off in lieu, supporting a strong work-life balance.

Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality care across a varied small animal caseload
Perform routine surgical procedures and medical case work-ups
Collaborate with certificate holders and experienced colleagues
Maintain excellent client communication and relationships
Contribute to clinical development and continuous improvement within the team
Candidate Profile
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
Confident in routine surgery and medical case management
Interest in medicine (desirable but not essential)
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Motivated and eager to develop clinically
