About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive small animal practice in Derby, Derbyshire. This role offers a salary of up to £65,000 (FTE, DOE) alongside flexible part-time hours, strong clinical support, and excellent opportunities for career progression.

This is a part-time position, working 15–30 hours per week, with flexibility around full or part days to suit your lifestyle, ideally including a Friday. The rota includes a shared 1 in 3 Saturday rota, some sole charge responsibilities, and no out-of-hours work, ensuring a strong work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality consultations and case management

  • Perform routine surgery and medical work-ups to a high clinical standard

  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and support teams

  • Provide excellent client communication and continuity of care

  • Participate in some sole charge responsibilities where required

  • Maintain excellent standards of patient welfare and client service

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with strong small animal GP experience

  • Confident in both medical and surgical case management

  • Good knowledge of working up cases independently

  • Comfortable with occasional sole charge responsibilities

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care

  • Positive team player who thrives in a supportive environment

Compensation & Benefits
