About the Role
A veterinary practice is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing small animal team in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
This is a full-time, four-day-week position, working 8:30am–7:00pm across four days, with just 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am–1:00pm) and no out-of-hours requirements.
The role offers an excellent balance of consultations and surgery, with 15-minute consultations, protected daily administration time and a competitive salary. Further benefits include 5 weeks' holiday plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, £1,000 CPD funding and certificate support.

About the Practice
The practice operates from a modern, purpose-built small animal clinic and is part of a growing, independently owned veterinary group.
The clinical team currently includes multiple Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses alongside dedicated veterinary care and front-of-house support.
The practice takes a Fear Free-centred approach to veterinary medicine, with a strong focus on reducing patient stress while delivering accessible, high-quality veterinary care.
Veterinary Surgeons benefit from a structured working day incorporating both consulting and theatre sessions. 15-minute consultations and dedicated administration time help clinicians manage cases effectively while maintaining high standards of client communication.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality small animal veterinary care
Managing a varied caseload across consultations and surgery
Conducting 15-minute consultations
Developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
Performing routine and appropriate surgical procedures
Providing compassionate, patient-centred veterinary care
Applying Fear Free principles within clinical practice
Communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners
Maintaining accurate clinical records
Working collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and support colleagues
Contributing to continued improvements in clinical standards
Participating in the 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified, MRCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working with both pets and people.
They should be enthusiastic about delivering high-quality, accessible veterinary medicine and interested in providing care that prioritises patient comfort and welfare.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage a varied combination of consulting and surgical cases.
