Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal
Location: Dorking, Surrey
Schedule: Full Time (4-day week, 1 in 4 weekends)
Salary: Up to £80,000 per year DOE
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal) to join a progressive and expanding veterinary group in the Sussex and Surrey region. This role is ideal for a vet seeking variety, clinical exposure, and career progression within a highly supportive and well-equipped environment.
The position offers a balanced and engaging caseload, combining branch and hospital work. You will spend time consulting on routine and complex cases, while also supporting advanced soft tissue surgery and ECC (day work) within a 24-hour hospital setting.
This role is perfectly suited to a veterinary surgeon looking to develop clinical skills, pursue certification, and work alongside experienced clinicians, including certificate holders and advanced practitioners.
About the Practice
The practice operates across multiple sites, including a 24-hour hospital, offering access to a wide and varied caseload. Facilities are state-of-the-art, including CT, MRI, laparoscopic equipment, digital and dental X-ray, high-spec ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and laser therapy.

Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality care across a varied small animal caseload
Conduct consultations and manage medical cases
Support and assist with advanced surgical and ECC cases (daytime)
Work collaboratively across branch and hospital settings
Contribute to a positive clinical culture and ongoing team development
Candidate Profile
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon (or eligible to register)
Experience in general practice with a desire to develop further
Confident in routine consultations and surgery
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Motivated, proactive, and keen to pursue clinical progression or certification
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Up to £80,000 DOE

Split rota: 2 days branch / 2 days hospital
