About the Role
A veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and established team in Dundee, Scotland.
This is a permanent position with a salary from £60,000 depending on experience, offering flexibility around working hours. Both full-time and part-time applications are considered, with the opportunity to develop a rota around individual commitments.
The role provides a varied first-opinion caseload with the opportunity to work up the majority of cases in-house, providing excellent scope to build clinical confidence and develop individual areas of interest.

About the Practice
The practice is a purpose-built small animal clinic equipped with modern facilities and diagnostic technology, supporting a broad range of first-opinion cases.
With an established and growing client base, the clinical team aims to investigate and manage the majority of cases in-house. This provides Veterinary Surgeons with exposure to a varied caseload and opportunities to develop their medical, surgical and diagnostic capabilities.
Professional development is strongly encouraged. Veterinary Surgeons interested in pursuing a particular clinical discipline or postgraduate qualification can benefit from funded certificate support and ongoing CPD.
Located in Dundee, the practice offers access to city amenities while being within easy reach of the Angus coastline, Fife and the wider Scottish countryside.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality small animal consultations
Investigating and managing medical cases
Performing routine surgical procedures
Working up a varied range of cases in-house
Developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
Providing preventative healthcare and ongoing patient management
Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients
Working collaboratively with veterinary, nursing and support colleagues
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
Upholding high standards of clinical governance and patient welfare
Developing individual clinical interests through CPD and further qualifications
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience in small animal general practice.
You should be comfortable managing a varied first-opinion caseload and have excellent communication and client care skills.
A collaborative approach and commitment to maintaining high clinical standards are essential.
An interest in developing a particular clinical discipline or working towards a postgraduate certificate would be welcomed but is not essential, with support available for continued professional development.
