About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for two experienced Veterinary Surgeons in the Feltham, Ashford and Sunbury area to join a brand-new, purpose-built small animal practice from its opening stages.
Offering a salary of £50,000–£70,000, a 4-day working week, 1 in 4 weekends and dedicated administration time within each shift, these positions offer an excellent combination of clinical progression and work-life balance.
Rather than simply joining an established team, the successful Veterinary Surgeons will have the opportunity to help shape the culture, clinical standards and day-to-day operation of a new veterinary practice alongside the Head Veterinary Surgeon.
The roles would suit confident GP Vets with at least 3 years' experience who want to combine first-opinion clinical work with mentoring, leadership and the opportunity to develop a particular clinical interest.
About the Practice
The practice is a brand-new, purpose-built small animal surgery designed to provide a spacious, modern and calm environment for patients, clients and the veterinary team.
Facilities will include eight consulting rooms, three operating theatres, separate dental and diagnostic imaging suites, spacious preparation areas and dedicated patient wards.
Modern diagnostic and surgical equipment will support clinicians in delivering comprehensive first-opinion care and working cases up effectively.
As part of the founding clinical team, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to influence how the practice operates and contribute towards building a collaborative, supportive and clinically focused culture from the outset.
The location provides convenient access to Feltham, Ashford and Sunbury, making the opportunity accessible to Veterinary Surgeons across West London and Surrey.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality first-opinion small animal veterinary care.
Consult, diagnose and treat a broad range of medical cases.
Perform routine and more advanced surgical procedures within your experience.
Provide preventative healthcare and promote long-term patient wellbeing.
Develop comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plans.
Build strong and trusted relationships with clients.
Support and mentor Veterinary Nurses and other clinical colleagues.
Lead by example in clinical governance and patient care.
Help establish clinical protocols and ways of working within the new practice.
Contribute to building a positive and collaborative team culture.
Maintain accurate clinical records.
Participate in clinical discussions and knowledge sharing.
Develop individual areas of clinical interest through CPD and further training.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who:
Holds current RCVS registration.
Has at least 3 years of small animal veterinary experience.
Is a confident GP Vet with strong all-round clinical skills.
Is comfortable managing both medical and surgical cases.
Has experience performing routine surgery and an interest in developing more advanced skills.
Demonstrates excellent communication and client-care abilities.
Enjoys supporting and mentoring colleagues.
Is organised, proactive and calm under pressure.
Has a strong understanding of clinical governance and patient care.
Wants to play an active role in developing a new veterinary practice.
May have a particular clinical interest they would like to develop further.
