About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon in the Sussex / Surrey region to join an experienced and clinically progressive small animal team.
This is a varied position offering the opportunity to work across both branch and hospital environments, providing exposure to everything from first-opinion consultations through to advanced soft tissue surgery and daytime emergency and critical care.
The role offers an excellent 4-day working week with a 1 in 4 weekend rota, alongside a highly competitive salary of up to £85,000 per annum.

About the Practice
The practice provides a highly equipped clinical environment with access to advanced technology including CT, MRI, laparoscopy, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, premium ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities and laser therapy.
The experienced veterinary team has a broad range of clinical interests, including orthopaedics, regenerative medicine, dentistry, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, cytology, endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, soft tissue surgery and dermatology.
The wider team includes highly experienced RVNs and support colleagues who play an integral role in clinical care and the smooth running of the practice.
There is a strong emphasis on collaboration and professional development, with clinicians encouraged to pursue further qualifications, certificates and areas of individual clinical interest.
The practice is conveniently located for travel across Sussex and Surrey, approximately 20 minutes from Gatwick Airport, with good rail connections into London and access to the South Coast.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality first-opinion small animal veterinary care.
Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload.
Conduct consultations and comprehensive clinical work-ups.
Perform routine surgical procedures.
Support more advanced soft tissue surgical cases where appropriate.
Contribute to daytime emergency and critical care cases.
Utilise advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory facilities.
Collaborate with experienced Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and support colleagues.
Participate in clinical case discussions and knowledge sharing.
Maintain excellent standards of patient welfare and client care.
Develop individual clinical interests through CPD and further qualifications.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon who:
Holds current RCVS registration or is eligible to register.
Has experience within small animal general practice.
Is confident managing a varied medical and surgical caseload.
Enjoys clinical variety and working across different practice environments.
Has strong communication and client-care skills.
Works effectively within an experienced multidisciplinary team.
Is enthusiastic about professional development.
Has an interest in developing advanced clinical skills or completing further certification.
Is committed to providing high standards of patient care.
