This established small animal hospital provides first opinion veterinary care within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The practice is supported by an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and reception colleagues who work together to deliver exceptional standards of patient and client care.

The hospital offers advanced facilities including:

  • Digital radiography

  • Ultrasound

  • Endoscopy

  • Advanced dental facilities

  • Laparoscopic surgery equipment

  • Dedicated ICU facilities

  • In-house laboratory supported by dedicated laboratory technicians

The practice also provides an ophthalmology referral service supporting practices throughout the South of England and benefits from a visiting Advanced Practitioner in Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional first opinion veterinary care for small animal patients.

  • Deliver high-quality consultations, diagnostics, and treatment plans.

  • Work up medical and surgical cases to a high clinical standard.

  • Perform surgical procedures with confidence and care.

  • Maintain excellent patient records and clinical standards.

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.

  • Contribute to clinical discussions, knowledge sharing, and practice development.

  • Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.

  • Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities.

  • Provide occasional out-of-hours support as part of a shared rota (typically 1–2 nights per month).

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working independently while being part of a collaborative and supportive team.

You will have:

  • RCVS registration and eligibility to work as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.

  • Experience within a small animal practice environment.

  • Strong clinical and surgical abilities.

  • A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care.

  • Confidence working up medical and surgical cases.

  • A commitment to evidence-based medicine and clinical development.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • An interest in developing further skills through certificates, advanced training, or mentoring opportunities.
