About the Role
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive and well-equipped small animal veterinary hospital in Leicester, Leicestershire.
This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, offering a salary of £45,000 - £60,000 including allowances.
The role combines a varied medical and surgical caseload with an attractive rota of 7.5-hour weekday shifts between 8am and 6pm and just 1 in 8 weekends, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients
Managing a varied and diverse clinical caseload
Conducting consultations, examinations and diagnostic investigations
Making confident, evidence-based clinical decisions
Developing appropriate treatment plans based on individual patient needs
Performing surgical procedures in line with experience and clinical competence
Communicating treatment options clearly and compassionately with clients
Taking a pragmatic and welfare-focused approach to patient care
Working collaboratively with veterinary surgeons, nurses and support colleagues
Participating in case discussions and shared clinical learning
Maintaining accurate clinical records and professional standards
Contributing to the continued development and improvement of clinical services
Participating in the 1 in 8 weekend rota
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced, RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who is confident managing a varied medical and surgical caseload.
They should demonstrate strong clinical judgement, adaptability and the ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions in a busy veterinary environment.
Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside the confidence to discuss realistic treatment options with clients and develop clear plans appropriate to individual patient circumstances.
A collaborative approach is equally important, with the successful candidate comfortable sharing knowledge and working closely with veterinary surgeons, nurses and the wider clinical team.
