About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established and supportive small animal practice in Middleton, Greater Manchester. This role offers a salary of up to £90,000 (FTE, DOE) alongside genuine flexibility, strong clinical support, and excellent opportunities for career progression.
This is a permanent full-time or part-time position, with hours ranging from 30–40 hours per week, and flexible working patterns available to suit individual lifestyles. The rota includes 1 in 2 Saturday mornings (9:00am–12:00pm), with no Sundays, bank holidays, or out-of-hours, ensuring an excellent work-life balance.

This is a busy first-opinion small animal practice with over 11 years of established success and a large, loyal client base, providing a varied and rewarding caseload. The practice is independently led and has built a strong reputation within the local community for delivering outstanding veterinary care.

They perform both routine and advanced surgical procedures, including orthopaedics and complex soft tissue surgery, alongside medical case work-ups supported by excellent in-house facilities including a dedicated laboratory, digital x-ray, dental equipment, and ultrasound.

Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality consultations and case work-ups
Perform routine and non-routine surgical procedures
Manage medical and surgical cases to a high clinical standard
Provide excellent client communication and continuity of care
Support the wider clinical team and contribute to a positive team culture
Participate in occasional sole charge responsibilities when required
Candidate Profile
Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with solid small animal practice experience
Confident in both consultations and surgery
Comfortable with occasional sole charge responsibilities
Passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care
Enthusiastic about professional development and clinical progression
Strong team player with a proactive and positive attitude
