About the Role
A veterinary practice is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a modern small animal team in Mosborough, Sheffield.
This is a full-time, four-day-week position, working 8:30am–7:00pm, with 1 in 2 Saturday mornings from 8:30am–1:00pm. The Saturday rota is expected to reduce as the clinical team grows, and there are no out-of-hours requirements.
The working day combines consultations and theatre sessions, with 15-minute consultations and protected daily administration time built into the rota. The package also includes a competitive salary, £1,000 CPD allowance, certificate support, private medical insurance and relocation assistance.
Salary: Competitive salary (from £45,000 - £70,000)

About the Practice
The practice provides small animal veterinary care from a modern, well-equipped clinical environment designed around both patient welfare and efficient clinical workflows.
Facilities include four consulting rooms, two operating theatres and a separate dental suite, alongside dedicated dog, cat and exotic wards with modern kennelling facilities.
The practice takes a Fear Free-centred approach, with facilities and clinical protocols designed to minimise patient stress and create a more comfortable veterinary experience.
Veterinary Surgeons benefit from a balanced combination of consulting and surgical work, supported by 15-minute appointments and dedicated administration time.
There is also a strong emphasis on professional development, with funded CPD, certificate support and Fear Free training and accreditation available.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality small animal veterinary care
Managing a varied caseload across consultations and surgery
Conducting 15-minute consultations
Developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
Performing routine and appropriate surgical procedures
Providing compassionate, patient-centred veterinary care
Applying Fear Free principles throughout clinical practice
Communicating clearly and professionally with pet owners
Maintaining accurate clinical records
Working collaboratively with veterinary, nursing and support colleagues
Contributing to continued improvements in clinical standards
Participating in the Saturday morning rota
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified, MRCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who is enthusiastic about delivering high-quality patient and client care.
They should enjoy a combination of consulting and surgery and have strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both clients and colleagues.
An interest in Fear Free veterinary medicine and patient-centred care would be particularly beneficial.
The position would suit a Vet looking for a progressive clinical environment offering a four-day week, no OOH, structured CPD and opportunities to pursue certificate-level qualifications.
