An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon in Newbury, Berkshire, joining a modern practice in a growing and supportive veterinary environment.
The position offers a salary of £50,000–£80,000, dependent on experience and hours, with full-time and part-time working options available.
For full-time applicants, the rota consists of a 4-day working week with every third Saturday morning, alongside no on-call, Sunday or bank holiday work.
The role is suited to Veterinary Surgeons with at least two years' experience who are confident managing a varied caseload and working with a degree of clinical autonomy.

Ultrasonography
IDEXX integrated in-house laboratory

Access to visiting ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeons
The Veterinary Surgeon will join a collaborative team with support from on-site nurses, experienced Veterinary Surgeons and visiting medical and surgical clinicians.
Although the position initially involves an element of sole-charge work, there is substantial support available through the wider veterinary network. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a growing practice and its expanding caseload.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality small animal first opinion veterinary care.
Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload.
Work confidently within a sole-charge environment.
Perform routine surgical procedures according to experience and competence.
Conduct clinical examinations and diagnostic investigations.
Utilise digital radiography, ultrasonography and in-house laboratory facilities.
Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
Work alongside visiting medical and surgical clinicians.
Liaise with specialist Veterinary Surgeons where appropriate.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.
Maintain accurate clinical records and professional standards.
Contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice.
Participate in clinical discussions and knowledge sharing.
Continue developing professional skills through CPD.
Candidate Profile
