About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a multiple award-winning small animal practice in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. This role offers a salary of up to £70,000 (DOE) alongside excellent clinical support, flexible working options, and genuine opportunities for career progression.

This is ideally a full-time position, with shift patterns of 9:00am–5:00pm and 11:00am–7:00pm, plus a 1 in 3 Saturday rota (9:00am–5:00pm). However, flexible working arrangements can be discussed for the right candidate. There are no out-of-hours requirements, ensuring a strong work-life balance.

About the Practice

This is a highly regarded, purpose-built small animal practice with multiple accreditations, including RCVS accreditation, Silver Cat Friendly status, and recognition under the Practice Standards Scheme, reflecting their commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. They are also recognised for their high standards across a wide range of veterinary services and preventative care.

The practice continues to grow and offers a varied caseload across both medical and surgical disciplines, providing excellent opportunities for clinical development and job satisfaction.

The leadership team includes highly experienced veterinary and nursing professionals with strong interests in soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, anaesthesia, and general practice standards. They are supported by a dedicated nursing team, veterinary care assistants, client care advisors, and strong operational leadership, creating a collaborative and welcoming environment.

Consultations are structured with 20-minute appointments, protected lunch breaks, admin time, and scheduled breaks built into the day to ensure clinicians can work effectively and leave on time.

The practice is modern and fully equipped, including advanced facilities and specialist equipment such as cryotherapy support, enabling high standards of care across a broad range of cases.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality consultations and case management

  • Perform routine surgery and manage medical cases to a high clinical standard

  • Work confidently in occasional sole charge situations

  • Build strong client relationships through excellent communication

  • Collaborate closely with the wider clinical and non-clinical teams

  • Support the continued development of clinical standards within the practice

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with solid small animal GP experience

  • Comfortable with routine surgery and a broad range of GP responsibilities

  • Confident with occasional sole charge responsibilities

  • Strong communication and client relationship skills

  • Passionate about delivering excellent patient care and clinical standards

  • Positive, proactive team player with a collaborative approach
