Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients
Managing a varied clinical caseload
Conducting consultations, examinations and diagnostic investigations
Making confident, evidence-based clinical decisions
Developing appropriate treatment plans based on individual patient needs
Performing surgical procedures where appropriate and in line with clinical competence
Communicating realistic treatment options clearly and compassionately with clients
Taking a pragmatic and welfare-focused approach to patient care
Working collaboratively with veterinary surgeons, nurses and support colleagues
Participating in case discussions and shared clinical learning
Maintaining accurate clinical records and professional standards
Contributing positively to the continued development of clinical services
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified, RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable managing a varied small animal caseload.
They should demonstrate clinical confidence, adaptability and sound decision-making skills, with the ability to develop evidence-based treatment plans appropriate to individual patients and circumstances.
Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside a collaborative approach and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
