An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon in Portsmouth to join a purpose-built, modern surgery as a key member of the clinical team. This role is perfect for a vet with 3+ years’ experience, including at least one year practising in the UK, who wants to deliver exceptional care and client service in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum DOE
Hours: 39 hours per week, 1 in 4 weekends
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for:
Delivering preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment across a wide range of medical and surgical cases
Managing cases consistently with high clinical standards
Promoting pet wellbeing and welfare-focused care
Communicating clearly and empathetically with pet owners
Collaborating effectively with both clinical and non-clinical team members
Contributing to the continuous improvement of the practice through clinical development and shared learning
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:
Be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon
Have 3+ years’ experience, including at least 1 year in the UK
Be confident in early diagnostics, case management, and preventive care
Be an excellent communicator and team player
Show a strong commitment to clinical development and CPD
Thrive in a collaborative, supportive practice environment
