About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing, locally owned practice in Rhyl, Denbighshire.

Following a recent rebrand and continued growth, the practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who wants to make their mark, contribute ideas and help shape the future of the practice while delivering excellent care to the local community.

The role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with school-hours working considered, and includes a 1 in 4 Saturday rota.

Salary up to £50,000 FTE, dependent on experience, alongside generous CPD and certificate support, enhanced holiday and a strong focus on colleague wellbeing.

About the Practice

The practice is a friendly, established small animal surgery with a loyal local client base and a close-knit team.

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will join a clinical team comprising three experienced Veterinary Surgeons, three RVNs, one SVN and one Veterinary Care Assistant, alongside a dedicated support team.

The practice has recently undergone a rebrand and is entering an exciting period of growth. The leadership team is committed to investing in the practice, its people and the wider local community.

There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, career development and maintaining a positive working environment. The practice also organises practice-funded social events throughout the year, helping colleagues build strong relationships outside the clinical environment.

The purpose-built surgery is located on a retail park in Rhyl and offers high-quality facilities, an in-house laboratory and smart appointment scheduling to support efficient clinical care.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Surgeon, responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality first-opinion veterinary care

  • Managing a varied small animal caseload

  • Conducting medical consultations and clinical work-ups

  • Performing routine surgical procedures

  • Building strong relationships with clients and their pets

  • Working collaboratively with the experienced clinical team

  • Contributing ideas to support practice growth and development

  • Supporting high standards of patient welfare and clinical care

  • Participating in the 1 in 4 Saturday rota

  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues where appropriate

  • Contributing positively to the practice's culture and community initiatives

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

  • Have solid general-practice experience

  • Be confident managing routine medical and surgical cases

  • Have excellent communication and client care skills

  • Be proactive and keen to contribute ideas

  • Want to play an active role in the continued growth of a practice

  • Enjoy working collaboratively within an experienced team

  • Be interested in mentoring or developing colleagues where appropriate

  • Value professional development and maintaining high clinical standards

Compensation & Benefits

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will receive:

  • Salary up to £50,000 FTE, dependent on experience
