An excellent opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive first-opinion small animal practice in Rochester, Kent.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering up to £55,000 depending on experience, with a 40-hour working week.

The practice is an established small animal service supported by a dedicated team of Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, PCAs and receptionists.

The practice is conveniently located in Rochester, with good accessibility for Veterinary Surgeons commuting from across Kent and parts of London, including Chatham, Maidstone, Gravesend, Dartford, Sittingbourne and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality first-opinion veterinary care to small animal patients.

  • Manage a varied caseload across medical and surgical cases.

  • Perform clinical examinations and diagnostic investigations.

  • Develop appropriate treatment and patient care plans.

  • Undertake surgery appropriate to experience and clinical capability.

  • Build strong and trusting relationships with clients and their pets.

  • Work collaboratively with Veterinary Nurses and the wider practice team.

  • Contribute to clinical discussions and continuous improvement.

  • Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and mentoring.

  • Maintain high standards of patient welfare, clinical care and client communication.

  • Continue developing clinical skills through CPD and professional development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience in small animal practice.

They should be confident managing a varied first-opinion caseload and comfortable with both medical and surgical cases.
