About the Practice
The practice is a spacious, purpose-built small animal clinic, recently extended to provide a modern and well-equipped working environment. Facilities include four consult rooms, digital x-ray, dedicated theatre, isolation wards, separate cat and dog wards, and a dedicated prep/dirty procedures area.
The team consists of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, student nurses, client care advisors, and a practice manager, creating a friendly, close-knit, and supportive culture. The practice also benefits from visiting specialists in orthopaedics and cardiology, enhancing clinical capabilities and learning opportunities.
The organisation is part of a national veterinary group, combining the support and resources of a larger network with the feel of a locally run practice, allowing teams to focus on patient care and community engagement.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality veterinary care across a varied small animal caseload
Perform consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
Collaborate with the wider clinical team to maintain high standards of care
Support and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate
Engage with visiting specialists and assist with advanced procedures
Contribute to a positive, team-focused working environment
Candidate Profile
Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with solid small animal experience
Confident in routine consultations and surgical procedures
Comfortable supporting and mentoring colleagues
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Keen to pursue clinical development and CPD opportunities
Proactive, personable, and committed to delivering excellent patient care
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE (FTE)
Schedule: Flexible full-time hours with 1-in-3 weekends (moving to 1-in-6)
