About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon in Watton, Norfolk, to join an established and supportive independent small animal practice.
The role offers an attractive 4-day working week, with shifts from 8:30am–6:30pm and the same weekday off each week, helping provide consistency and an excellent work-life balance.
You will enjoy a varied week split between consultations and surgical work, with 15-minute consultation appointments arranged in blocks throughout the day. This provides valuable time to follow up cases and deliver thorough patient care.
You will also have access to support from experienced Veterinary Surgeons within the team, making this an excellent opportunity for a clinician looking for a supportive environment in which to develop.
About the Practice
The practice is an established small animal surgery located in the market town of Watton, Norfolk, with a permanent team of Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and dedicated support staff.
The practice provides a well-equipped clinical environment, including dental X-ray, digital X-ray and ultrasound, alongside an on-site laboratory.
The laboratory enables the team to perform biochemistry, haematology, SNAP tests, urinalysis and microscopy, supporting efficient in-house diagnostics and comprehensive case work-ups.
The surrounding area offers an excellent lifestyle, with Thetford Forest nearby and the beautiful North Norfolk coast within easy reach.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality first-opinion small animal veterinary care.
Conduct thorough consultations and clinical examinations.
Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload.
Perform routine surgical procedures appropriate to experience.
Develop diagnostic and treatment plans.
Follow up cases and monitor patient progress.
Utilise in-house laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatment options.
Maintain accurate clinical records.
Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and support staff.
Maintain high standards of patient welfare and clinical care.
Participate in CPD and ongoing professional development.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who:
Holds current RCVS registration.
Has experience within small animal practice.
Is confident managing both medical and surgical cases.
Enjoys working across consultations and operations.
Takes a thorough and patient-focused approach to clinical care.
Has strong communication and client-care skills.
Works effectively as part of a supportive team.
Is committed to maintaining high clinical standards.
Is keen to continue developing professionally through CPD and further qualifications.
