A veterinary practice is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its experienced team within a purpose-built 24-hour hospital in Thurnscoe, Rotherham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician looking to develop their interests in internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic imaging or neurology, with access to advanced diagnostic facilities and a varied medical and surgical caseload.
The position offers a salary of £72,000 per year and is ideally full-time, working 40 hours across four days per week, with a 1 in 6 full weekend rota. Part-time and flexible working arrangements may also be considered.

About the Practice
The practice operates from a purpose-built 24-hour veterinary hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics and an interesting and varied caseload.
Facilities include a full-body CT scanner, digital radiography, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory, enabling clinicians to investigate and manage a wide variety of cases.
The hospital also provides three spacious consultation rooms, two dedicated operating theatres and a large clinical preparation area, alongside dedicated office and learning spaces.
The advanced facilities make this particularly suitable for a Veterinary Surgeon interested in developing expertise in diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology or neurology.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality veterinary consultations
Managing a varied medical and surgical caseload
Investigating complex medical cases
Developing individual diagnostic and treatment plans
Utilising advanced diagnostic imaging including CT, ultrasound and digital radiography
Performing appropriate surgical procedures
Providing preventative healthcare and ongoing patient management
Communicating treatment options clearly and compassionately with clients
Working collaboratively with veterinary, nursing and support colleagues
Contributing clinical knowledge and supporting colleagues where appropriate
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
Upholding high standards of clinical governance and patient welfare
Developing individual clinical interests through CPD and postgraduate qualifications
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified MRCVS with a commitment to clinical excellence and high-quality client care.
You should be comfortable managing a varied first-opinion medical and surgical caseload and enjoy working collaboratively within an experienced clinical team.
The role would particularly suit a Veterinary Surgeon with an existing interest, or a desire to develop further expertise, in internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic imaging or neurology.
A proactive approach to professional development is encouraged, with funded certificate opportunities and dedicated CPD support available.
